State Bank of India proposes to engage apprentices in the states of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.

The districtwise break-up of number of seats where training will be given is under:
Haryana (150): Hisar-31, Karnal-36, Kurukshetra-23, Rohtak-22 and Sirsa-38;
Punjab (400): Amritsar-31, Barnala-40, Bhatinda-45, Gurdaspur-40, Jalandhar-28, Ludhiana-32, Moga-40, Mohali-30, Muktsar-31, Patiala-37 and Sangrur-46;
Himachal Pradesh (150): Bilaspur-27, Kangra-29, Kullu-21, Nahan-36, Rampur-37
The number of training seats mentioned above is provisional and may vary according to the actual requirement of the Bank.
AGE:
Minimum 20 years and maximum 28 years as on 31.08.2019.
Maximum age indicated is for unreserved candidates.
Relaxation in upper age limit is applicable as per Government of India guidelines for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION as on 31.08.2019:
Graduation from a recognised University/ Institute
DURATION OF TRAINING:
One year only.
STIPEND/ BENEFIT:
The apprentices are eligible for stipend of 70% of semi-skilled labour wages as applicable in the espective states as per Apprentices Act or Rs.8000 per month whichever is higher. The trainee is not eligible for any other allowances/benefits.
SELECTION PROCESS:
Selection for engagement of apprentices would be based on the basis of online written test and test of local language.
The online examination will be held on 23.10.2019 (Tentatively).
The structure of online written examination (online objective type) would be as follows:

- Each test will have a separate timing.
- The questions will be bilingual, i.e., English & Hindi, except for the test of General English.
- There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests.
- 1/4th of mark assigned for question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- Candidates are required to score a minimum percentage marks on aggregate (For SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates, 5% relaxation available thereon).
- There are no minimum qualifying marks for individual subjects.
- Test of local language:
The specified local languages of the states are as under:

- The candidates applying for vacancies of a particular state, should be proficient (reading, writing, speaking and understanding) in any one of the specified local language of that State.
- The test for knowledge of specified opted local language will be conducted as a part of selection process.
- It will be conducted after qualifying the online written examination. Candidates who fail to qualify this test will not be engaged for apprentice. Candidates who produce 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/certificate evidencing having studied the specified opted local language will not be required to undergo the language test.
- Candidates will have to appear for the test of specified opted local language at a centre (to be decided by the Bank) of the State applied for, at his/her own expenses.
